“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” (Mark 11:24, KJV).
As believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, we must ask ourselves, “Are we praying enough to bring about a change in our circumstances or the in the circumstances of others?” We can’t find ourselves being more concerned with position, power, and popularity over prayer and living for God. Times such as these calls for a time of self-examination. In analyzing our prayer life, does our nation’s devastation rest on our inability to pray?
Prayer requires humility, commitment, and sacrifice, but we must be brought in remembrance of its objective. II Chronicles 7:14 tells us how to pray an effective prayer:
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Who are we and what has God promised us he would do?
We need to be reminded of our Father’s authority.
We need to repent and passionately pursue the face of God.
He will hear, help and heal us if we surrender all to him.
Let’s be found guilty of praying with purpose with the intensity and fervency that is necessary to break the stronghold of Satan. Witness God heal and restore our land through prayer!
